Biosketch

Prof. Arck studied Medicine at the University of Tübingen and received her M.D. from the same university in 1994. After two postdoctoral training phases from 1994-1997 at McMaster University Hamilton and University of Toronto, she returned to Germany and worked as resident doctor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Julius-Maximillian University Würzburg. Afterwards she focused her work on scientific research in Charité University Medicine Berlin and completed her Habilitation in Immunology/Experimental Psychosomatics in 2001. Later in 2006 she was appointed W2 Professor in Psychoneuroimmunology in Charité University Medicine Berlin. Two years later she went to Canada again and took the offer of Professor in Neuroimmunology at McMaster University Hamilton. Since 2010 she was appointed W3 Professor in Experimental Feto-Maternal Medicine at University Medical Center Hamburg. Since 2015 she became the Spokesperson for the Clinical Research Unit 296 "Feto-Maternal Immune Cross Talk". 

Prof. Arck was frequently invited as key note speaker at national and international meetings, e.g. Nature-Herrenhausen Symposium,  the World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology, the International Congress of Immunology. Meanwhile she is reviewer for multiple funding agencies , e.g. Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Israel Science Foundation, Wellcome Trust, Canadian Institute for Health Research.
